Thank you (again) to the Indianapolis Star for the wonderful editorial in today’s Star. As the editorial mentions, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) released a study last week that showed Indiana is lagging far behind the national decline in lung-cancer deaths related to smoking. The Star pointed out that Indiana is lagging due to a low cigarette tax, few dollars spent towards education and the lack of a smoke-free law for Indiana.
We hope these studies will motivate our General Assembly to move forward meaningful legislation to make Indiana smoke-free.
